A small base carrying out a big mission, Fort Worth Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base improves the operability of all four military services while also providing a high-quality training environment for active and reserve components for all branches.

On the site of the former Carswell Air Force Base, it was one of the first Strategic Air Command bases. The base became Fort Worth NAS JRB in 1994 as the first joint-service reserve base. As part of the 1993 base closure recommendations, tenant commands from area bases relocated to the base's 1,805 acres. The realignment has become a model for future consolidations.
